According to Puranic traditions, Lord Kuber is the son of Sage Vishrava and is described as the king of Yakshas (celestial beings associated with treasures). He resides in Alakapuri and serves as the divine treasurer of heaven.
Scriptures mention that Lord Kuber is closely associated with Lord Shiva and is considered a devoted follower. His worship is especially recommended during auspicious occasions like Dhanteras, Diwali, Akshaya Tritiya, Purnima (Full Moon), and at the beginning of new ventures or business establishments.
It is believed that sincere devotion, mantra chanting, and installation of Kuber Yantra help attract prosperity while maintaining balance and protection over existing assets.
In Hindu philosophy, wealth (Artha) is one of the four Purusharthas (goals of life). However, it must be earned and utilized in alignment with dharma. Lord Kuber Puja symbolizes responsible prosperity—where material growth is harmonized with gratitude, charity, and spiritual awareness.
The ritual teaches that true abundance is not merely accumulation of money, but financial stability combined with wisdom, ethical conduct, and contentment. By invoking Lord Kuber, devotees seek both material success and disciplined management of wealth.
