Traditionally performed on Purnima (full moon day) or on special occasions such as marriage, housewarming, naming ceremonies, anniversaries, and birthdays, this puja brings abundance, peace, truth, and divine protection.

The ritual involves Ganesh pujan, Kalash sthapana, recitation of the Satya Narayan Katha, and a sacred havan (fire ritual). It not only removes obstacles but also blesses the devotee with health, prosperity, harmony in family, and fulfillment of desires.

At e-Puja by SATVIK, this puja is performed by experienced Brahmin Pandits as per traditional guidelines. You may choose to perform it at your home or attend the ceremony virtually through live streaming, making it convenient and spiritually fulfilling.

The origin of Satyanarayan Katha is found in the Skanda Purana, where Lord Vishnu narrated the significance of this vrat to Sage Narada to guide humanity in Kali Yuga. The scripture describes how devotion to Satyanarayan helps remove suffering, poverty, and misfortune when performed with sincerity and truthfulness.

The Katha includes five sacred chapters describing how individuals from different walks of life — a poor Brahmin, a woodcutter, a merchant, and even a king — attained prosperity and peace through faithful observance of this vrat. It emphasizes the importance of keeping promises, practicing honesty, and offering gratitude to the Divine.

The ritual is simple yet powerful, teaching that sincere devotion and truthfulness are the highest forms of worship.

Satyanarayan Puja represents the spiritual principle that truth (Satya) is the foundation of cosmic order. Lord Vishnu, as the preserver of the universe, sustains Dharma and ensures balance in creation. Worshipping him in this form signifies aligning oneself with truth, integrity, and divine protection.

The puja is believed to:

  • Purify accumulated karmas
  • Bring mental peace and emotional stability
  • Strengthen family harmony and unity
  • Attract prosperity and righteous success
  • Remove obstacles in career and finances
  • Promote spiritual awareness and devotion

The ritual reinforces the teaching that when devotion is combined with honesty and gratitude, divine grace flows naturally.
